1 This Order may be cited as the Hotel Concession (Palmetto Hotel) Amendment Order 2006.

Amends paragraph 3

2 Paragraph 3 (1) of the Hotels Concession (Palmetto Hotel) Order 2001 (in this Order referred to as "the principal Order") is amended —

(a) by deleting from sub-subparagraph (d) the numeral "50" and substituting the numeral "100"; and

(b) by deleting sub-subparagraph (e) and substituting the following —

"(e) for a period beginning with the opening date and ending on the fifth anniversary of that date, exemption from the hotel occupancy tax otherwise payable in respect of the hotel to an amount equal to 50 per cent of the sums expended by the hotel on entertainment provided by Bermudian entertainers to an amount not exceeding $12,000 in any year;".

Closure of North Shore Road

The Ministry of Works and Engineering and Housing wishes to inform motorists of a series of temporary road closures that will take place along North Shore Road from Jennings Road junction to the Middle Road and Harrington Sound Road junction.

TIMES AND DATES

These series of road closures will take place from 7.00 p.m. until 9.30 p.m.

The dates for the road closures are as follows Thursday, 15th June, 2006, Thursday, 22nd June, 2006, Thursday, 29th June, 2006, Thursday, 6th July, 2006, Thursday, 13th July, 2006, Thursday, 20th July, 2006, Thursday, 27th July, 2006, Thursday, 10th August. 2006, Thursday, 17th August, 2006, Thursday, 24th August, 2006, and Thursday, 31st August, 2006.

RESIDENTS' ACCESS

Once the road is closed, there will be no access except for residents who will be permitted to access their properties via the closed section of roadway.

FLATT'S VILLAGE FESTIVAL

The road closures are to assist with the events for the Flatt's Village Festival.

BUSES AND MOTORISTS ROUTES

Bus services and motorists will not continue along North Shore Road from the Store Hill junction to junction near Harrington Sound Road. Buses and motorists will instead travel via Store Hill and east along Middle Road, Smith's, then to North Shore Road junction near Harrington Sound Road to continue along North Shore Road, and return the same route for the duration of the Festival.

The Ministry of Works and Engineering and Housing would like to encourage the full cooperation of the motoring public and apologizes for any inconvenience that may result.
