Annual Comet Race
The West End Sailboat Club will host the annual long distance comet sailboat race between Somerset to St. Georges on Monday June 12th 2006.
The race will start at 11:00 a.m. in St. Georges Harbour and will end approximately 3 hours later in the Great Sound near the West End Sailboat Club.
Mariners are advised to give adequate clearance and minimal wake when in the vicinity of the racing comets.

Air Navigation (Overseas Territories) Order 2001
EXEMPTION
INSTRUMENT APPROACH PROCEDURES
1 The Department of Civil Aviation, in exercise of its designated powers under Article 126 of the Air Navigation (Overseas Territories) Order 2001 ("the Order"), hereby exempts from the provisions of Article 105A (1) the operator and the commander of any aircraft from the requirement to establish and use, at an aerodrome in the Territory, only an instrument approach procedure that has been approved by the Governor.
2 This Exemption is granted subject to the following conditions:
(a) If an aircraft would as regards any flight pursuant to this exemption be required by the Rules of the Air to be flown in accordance with the Instrument Flight Rules at the aerodrome of intended landing, it shall be flown in accordance with a designated standard instrument approach procedure to a point from which a visual landing can be made; and
(b) for the purpose of this exemption a 'Standard instrument approach procedure' means an instrument approach procedure designed in accordance with International Civil Aviation Organization Procedures for Air Navigation Services (PANS-OPS).
3 This exemption shall have effect from the date hereof until and including 31 December 2006 unless it is revoked, suspended or varied.

EXPLANATORY NOTES
1 This exemption is issued to enable continued use of existing instrument approach procedures at aerodromes within the Territory, pending their approval under Article 105A.
2 Attention is drawn to the provisions of Article 38, 39 and 40 of the Order which continue to apply and are unaffected by this exemption.
3 Attention is also drawn to Rule 40 of the Rules of the Air, in Schedule 13 to the Order -
Use of radio navigation aids
40 (1) Subject to paragraph (2), the commander of an aircraft shall not make use of any radio navigation aid without complying with such restrictions and appropriate procedures as may be notified in relation to that aid unless authorised by an air traffic control unit.
(2) The commander of an aircraft shall not be required to comply with this rule if he is required to comply with rule 31.
