On an annual basis, the Members of Congress, the President of the United States, national leaders from throughout the United States and global leaders from more than 140 + different countries, gather to reaffirm their trust in God, to recognize the reconciling power of prayer and to build and strengthen relationships.   The Premier’s attendance at the event continues a long standing tradition of Bermuda representation at the National Prayer Breakfast. Also in attendance today were First Lady Michelle Obama and Vice President Joe Biden.

President of the United States, Barak Obama spoke to the crowd of over 3500 about the freedom of worship and how it can empower a nation.  Keynote speaker for the event was Mr.  Rajiv  Shah, Administrator for the US Agency to International Development (AID), who encouraged the leaders to eliminate world hunger and extreme poverty. 

Premier Cannonier was accompanied by Chief of Staff, Mr. Dale Jackson and will return to Bermuda tomorrow.
