You are getting married on one of the most beautiful islands on Earth.
But did you know that inviting family and friends to your Bermuda wedding can also earn you a financial reward?
The Department of Tourism is offering cash incentives of between $25 and $50 for each visitor.
Government launched the Feel the Love Rewards programme to boost visitor arrivals in the tough economic climate.
The scheme is open to island residents as well as ‘friends of Bermuda’. This includes any US, Canadian and UK resident, excluding cruise ship visitors.
Participants must be over 18 years of age.
To become a Feel the Love Rewards Ambassador you must fill out an application form online or alternatively post it to the Feel the Love Rewards Coordinator at the Department of Tourism’s New York office.
Once received and approved, members receive a Welcome Kit which includes promotional materials and literature.
They can then start accruing points for each ‘Eligible Stay’ on the island.
This is a paid stay at a list of qualifying hotels, published on the Feel the Love Rewards website.
The way the scheme works is that if you bring 15 or more visitors to the island over the course of a year, you will receive commission according the numbers.
If you bring between 15 and 24 visitors you will earn $25 per person, or $30 for between 25 and 34 visitors.
This then increases to $40 per person for 35 to 49 visitors, and $50 for more than 50 visitors.
It means that if you had a wedding party of 30 guests, all staying in Tourism-approved accommodation, you could receive $900.
The Tourism Department will also supply you with all the promotional material you need to encourage people to visit the island.
The Feel the Love Rewards website features all the latest travel deals from the Department of Tourism, from airline deals to hotel packages.
