The Public Service Superannuation Board, in exercise of the powers conferred uder section 2(2) of the Pensions (Increase) Act 1972 as applied by section 3(4) of the Public Service Superannuation Act 1981, makes the following Order:

Citation

1 This Order may be cited as the Pensions (Public Service Superannuation Act 1981) (Increase) Order 2008.

Increase of rates of pensions

2 The annual rate of pensions payable under the Public Service Superannuation Act 1981 shall, with effect from 1 July 2008, be increased as follows

(a) the rate of pensions beginning on or before 30 June 2006 shall be increased by 8½ per cent;

(b) the rate of pensions beginning in the half year period ending on 31 December 2006 shall be increased by 8 per cent;

(c) the rate of pensions beginning in the half year period ending on 30 June 2007 shall be increased by 6 per cent;

(d) the rate of pensions beginning in the half year period ending on 31 December 2007 shall be increased by 4½ per cent;

(e) the rate of pensions beginning in the half year period ending on 30 June 2008 shall be increased by 2 per cent.

The Minister of Finance, in exercise of the powers conferred under section 2(2) of the Pensions (Increase) Act 1972, makes the following Order:

Citation

1 This Order may be cited as the Pensions (Increase) Order 2008.

Increase of rates of pensions

2 The annual rate of pensions to which the Pensions (Increase) Act 1972 applies shall, with effect from 1 July 2008, be increased as follows-

(a) the rate of pensions beginning on or before 30 June 2006 shall be increased by 8½ per cent;

(b) the rate of pensions beginning in the half year period ending on 31 December 2006 shall be increased by 8 per cent;

(c) the rate of pensions beginning in the half year period ending on 30 June 2007 shall be increased by 6 per cent;

(d) the rate of pensions beginning in the half year period ending on 31 December 2007 shall be increased by 4½ per cent;

(e) the rate of pensions beginning in the half year period ending on 30 June 2008 shall be increased by 2 per cent.

PENDER ROAD, SANDYS PARISH

ROAD CLOSURE

The Ministry of Works and Engineering wishes to inform motorists there will be a road closure from the junction of Cockburn's Bridge to the entrance of Dockyard on Pender Road, Sandys. The road closure is necessary to allow for road improvements to take place on Pender Road.

During the road closure, the road along the dock known as Freeport Drive will be made to accommodate two traffic flows. This section of Freeport Drive near Cockburn's Bridge will be made into two way traffic flows with the aid of traffic signal controls. All motorists shall use Freeport Drive to access and depart the Dockyard area.

The access for traffic and pedestrians for the Westgate Correctional Facility and Prison Officers' Club will be made available from the entrance of Dockyard only.

ROAD CLOSURE EFFECTIVE DATES

This road closure is effective on Monday, 29th December, 2008 until Friday, 17th April, 2009.

The Ministry of Works and Engineering apologizes for any inconvenience for the road closure and requests that motorists cooperate with the traffic control devices in this area.
