Are you LINKED?

In these times any help we can get in reducing our costs or adding value to what we purchase or need, makes our lives just a little bit easier.

Age Concern Bermuda prides itself on putting the needs of the over-50 population first.

Our increase in membership by more than 300 per cent in the past 18 months confirms that these services are not only needed but wanted.

Services

Age Concern Bermuda is a charity, and more importantly, a non-Government organization that is available to assist not only those needing services, but those who want to be better informed about their choices.

We offer many products, from our Advocacy seminars to our Handyman programme.

Our LINK programme speaks to our mission, which is ‘To LINK products and services to the older population of Bermuda that meet their needs’.

You can see our Lifestyle LINK Showcase at the Coldwell Banker Home Show, in the CedarBridge cafeteria.

It features island companies that not only offer discounts to Age Concern members but who offer value-added services.

From new boilers to legal services, senior-friendly cellphones and advice on retirement, to planting gardens and purchasing furniture which is right for you, come and find out the opportunities available.

There is also a Bermuda Gas/MarketPlace barbecue area and a dance showcase featuring Zumba and salsa.

We will run our seminar on the LINK programme every hour on the hour. The dance entertainment will run on the half-hour.

Look for your schedule when you enter the cafeteria.

Age Concern’s LINK partners are: The MarketPlace, Cambridge Beaches, Sandys 360, Bermuda Gas, Bermuda Commercial Bank, Sousa’s Gardens, WOW, HWP, OBMI, CellOne, BELCO, MJM, Argus, Bermuda Diabetes Association and the Bermuda Red Cross.

Age Concern is securing new LINK partners all the time and is currently working with several other companies to ensure they can bring our members the very best.

If you would like to become a member of Age Concern, it is $20 for our annual membership.

This includes all seminars, LINK benefits, and assistance from a trained group of professionals.

All LINK partners display the Age Concern Seal of Approval.

Elizabeth M Ward is the Age Concern LINK coordinator. She also has her own company, Executive Choice Bermuda, which provides event and project management. For more information on Age Concern call 238-7525 or e-mail info@ageconcern.bm. The charity’s website is at www.ageconcern.bm.
