THE ROAD TRAFFIC ACT 1947

THE ROAD TRAFFIC (VARIATION

OF SPEED LIMITS) ORDER 2010

In exercise of the powers conferred upon the Corporation of Hamilton by section 7(2A) and (2B) of the Road Traffic Act 1947, the following Order is hereby made:-

Citation and Application

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Road Traffic (Variation of Speed Limits) Order 2010.

(2) This Order applies only to the competitors and to attendant vehicles in the Bermuda Bicycle Association Cycle Race being held on Sunday 25th April 2010.

Speed limit

2. (1) The speed limits fixed by section 7 (2) of the Traffic Act 1947 are hereby varied to the extent specified in the first column of the Schedule in respect of the Bermuda Bicycle Association Cycle Race

(2) The roads or parts thereof specified in the second column of the Schedule are hereby declared to be subject at the times specified in the third column of the Schedule to the speed limit specified in the first column thereof.

BERMUDA BAR (PRACTISING CERTIFICATE) AMENDMENT RULES 2010

The Bar Council, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Bermuda Bar Act 1974, makes the following Rules:

Citation

1 These Rules, which amend the Bermuda Bar (Practising Certificate) Rules 1984 (the "principal Rules"), may be cited as the Bermuda Bar (Practising Certificate) Amendment Rules 2010.

Amends Rule 7

2 (1) Rule 7 of the principal Rules is amended-

(a) by revoking paragraph (2) and replacing it with the following-

"(2) With effect from May 1, 2010 the fee for a special practising certificate is-

(a) $2,000 for a hearing before the Commercial Court or on any appeal from the Commercial Court, without legal aid; and

(b) $250 in all other cases."; and

(b) by revoking paragraph (3).

Revokes and replaces Form 1 of Schedule

3 Form 1 of the Schedule to the principal Rules is revoked and replaced by the following-

Commencement

4 (1) Except as provided in paragraph (2), these Rules come into operation on May 1, 2010.

(2) Subparagraphs 7(a) and (b) of Form 1 enacted by rule 3 of these Rules come into operation on October 2, 2010.
