WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 1: The Crown & Anchor app on Facebook has attracted over 600 users since debuting last week with St George’s fans having their team far out in the lead.
Developed by Cosmic Ltd for CellOne Bermuda, the game allows for people to play for St George’s or Somerset as they wager points to win some pretty amazing prizes.
Players are seeded 250 points but can get extra ones by inviting friends to play.
The bettor drags a symbol representing 5, 10, 15, 20, 50 or 100 points onto on the six symbols on the table to place his wager. He then clicks a button to roll the dice and a wheel spins the three dice symbols.
Sean Collier, president and creative director, of Cosmic, said this was a fun way for people to get involved in CellOne’s ‘Power of More’ campaign in addition to creating some buzz before Cup Match.
He said: “It is the first time a Bermudian company has developed a game for social media and we are proud to have been asked to do it.”
It took about three months for Cosmic to see the project through from start to finish, we worked on the layout graphics, brand, sound effects and overall functionality. This was a challenging yet fun project for us, we found that there are many layers to a gaming experience and think that for our first approach at it we did it well.”
Mr Collier said the Cosmic team was highly involved to see the project to completion with Krista Barnes and Adams Davis having a larger role figuring out the logistics and functionality.
“Cosmic is an agency that is not only focused on design solutions, but an agency that thinks smarter so that we can help our clients to be seen in a competitive marketplace.”
Mr Collier said it was important to get the game launched prior to Cup Match to help give fans something to cheer about since people take a lot of pride in either rooting for the Red and Blue of Somerset or the Blue and Blue of St George’s.
“This was just a way to help create some hype. Bermudians get excited when Cup Match gets close and this is a fun way of doing something new and interactive with potential clients with the ultimate goal of giving CellOne more likes on Facebook.”
