New VP for Iron-Starr

Richard ‘Bud’ Rossomme has been named vice president, excess casualty underwriter at Iron-Starr Excess Ltd.

Mr. Rossomme joins Iron-Starr from Chartis Excess.

Stuart Anderson, CEO of Iron-Starr, said: “The addition of Bud to our existing team reflects our continued growth and dedication to this class of business and underscores our focus on industry-leading service levels to achieve this goal.”

Iron-Starr Excess Agency Ltd., a joint venture between Ironshore Inc. and CV Starr & Co., Inc. is a specialty lines insurance managing general underwriting agency, domiciled in Bermuda.

Opportunities nailed-on

The Government said at least six companies have expressed interest in hiring the 12 women who are taking part in the Nail Technician Programme.

The 12 women began classes on September 4 and will finish on December 21.

Rosewood Tucker’s Point is one company expressing interest and the Face and Mirror Body Shop said it will hire graduates from the programme.

Patrice Minors, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, said: “This is tremendously good news and it’s very heartening to see local businesses stepping up to support our young Bermudians in this way.” He added: “It is very gratifying to see employers playing their part by helping to get Bermudians back to work, and I want to publicly commend them for their dedication and commitment.”
