The Green Family on Monday announced that they are considering plans to redevelop the Southampton Beach Resort (formerly Sonesta Beach Hotel) as a beach club for The Fairmont Hamilton Princess.
If carried out, the new private members club would be located on Boat Bay Beach, which is one of three beaches on the property, and would consist of a restaurant/bar, beach, gym, spa and tennis courts. In addition, the beach could have a small dock for water sport activities. The grounds already have undergone infrastructure work including new roads and landscaping. The entire project could possibly be completed by Spring 2015.
Alexander Green, on behalf of the family, says: “We are looking at numerous options for the property and still in the early stages of planning. We are excited to share our initial vision for the Southampton Beach property and we look forward to providing more updates once we finalise any plans.”
Andrew Green also commented that: “Our immediate goal for the property is enhance The Fairmont Hamilton Princess. The addition of the beach facilities will allow us to offer the best of both worlds, with the convenience of being located in town and access to stunning private beaches.”
